Cora Sconce is a wall lamp shaped like a crescent moon with the light shining on the wall. A wall sconce with simple lines that, when suspended, seems to counteract gravity with its rounded side attached to the wall.
Cora is a series of four lamps designed by Karl Zahn for Roll Hill. The Greek goddess Persephone was also called Cora and from this comes both the name and the inspiration for the lamps. Cora was kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld, where she was tricked into eating a pomegranate seed that forced her to return to the underworld every year. The lamps' light is meant to reflect her annual return, which brought warmth and light to the underworld.
The finishes are black, bronze, polished nickel and polished brass. Made in aluminum and acrylic.
