Envolée Pink Rug, designed by Cristina Celestino for Italian cc-tapis, is a pink rug that will be a colorful addition to both hotel lobbies and homes. The rug is handmade in Nepal from wool, cotton, and linen and comes in a size of 230 x 300 cm. The rug is also available in the color Forest.
Celestino takes inspiration from one of the most delicate structures found in nature: the wings of a butterfly. Observed under a microscope, their beauty is so sophisticated that it defies description and has a fabric-like texture. The structure of the wings is characterized by shimmer and their movements look like brushstrokes. The inspiration of the butterfly takes shape on the carpet in the form alternating chromatic compositions highlighted by different material densities. Using wool and linen creates a vivid texture that plays on the properties of the individual materials and on the different shades used.
