String Arbetsplats E is a shelving system from String Furniture. Despite its modern design, this design icon was already designed in 1949 by Nils Strinning and his wife Kajsa. In this ready-made version, the shelving system consists of floor end panels made of steel as well as shelves, drawer units and folding tables in MDF with veneer. Together, they form a functional workplace with good storage options and unloading areas. In addition to a desk, the folding table can also be used as a dining table in the small home for practical compact living.
In connection with a competition announced by Bonnier and the Swedish Crafts Association in 1949, the String shelf was presented for the first time. The timeless, practical and minimalist furniture has become an undoubted design classic in Swedish design. Today, the string shelf has an obvious place in many environments, in the home as well as in public.
