Seletti was established in 1964 in the small Italian town of Cicognara, Mantova, by Romano Seletti. From the beginning, the company focused on design projects and creativity that characterize Italian excellence. The company always places strong emphasis on professional service and constant innovation to strive for originality.
Seletti’s collections offer a blend of art and utility that expresses form and function. They convey a vision for a unique, personal and fun lifestyle. Today, the company is run by Roman’s son Stefano. In 1987, he started working in the family business, which initially focused more on everyday items. Stefano began a new era in the company, bringing design and esthetics to the simple products, resulting in a range that is exclusive yet affordable. The company combines design with pop art, aiming to make its products accessible and appreciated by a wide audience. Seletti’s projects reflect our times in a modern, ironic, and fun way.
Innovative, playful design
Stefano Seletti is an innovator and entrepreneur who, with some courage, influenced the market with interesting new ideas. Seletti wanted to avoid mass production and instead emphasized design that relates to taste and experience. According to Stefano, design is about thinking first before doing, which leads to well-thought-out, beautiful productions. Seletti’s range includes a range of playful animal lamps designed by Italian designer Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba. The well-known Monkey Lamp depicts a new way of thinking about lighting. With its imaginative design, the monkey brings a theatrical feel to a home interior. The light source is adjustable; the bulb can be placed in the monkey’s hand, or left hanging. The Monkey Lamp is one of Marcantonio’s most beautiful creations. At the smaller end of the scale is Marcantonio’s Mouse Lamp, a cute table lamp in the shape of a mouse, available in three different positions and colors. The theatrical lamps exude elegance and originality.
Our range also includes the Banana Lamp, designed by the Studio Job design studio, who together with Seletti have produced a redesigned version of their original banana lamp, now in resin and glass with a polished bronze surface. Like Marcantonio’s animal lamps, Studio Job creates lighting in the borderland between object and art, contributing to a fun design with great detail.
