During the post-war years, in the small Italian town of Udine, a craftsman named Agostino Moroso founded a furniture workshop with his wife Diana. The year was 1952, and the business consisted mainly of small-scale production of mostly simple wooden furniture made with the help of local craftsmen.
Nearly 70 years have passed since then, and the company has grown into a global and innovative design brand that has achieved great international success and countless awards for its strong design. Moroso continues to produce premium sofas and furniture, and has collaborated with well-known designers such as Ron Arad, Carlo Colombo, Marc Newson, Toshiyuki Kita, and Patricia Urquiola.
Quality down to the last detail
Moroso always strives for the highest quality in their production, and every single component plays an important role in their craftsmanship. They have a long-term vision and are aware of the benefits of combining craftsmanship and seamlessness with industrial process techniques to create unique products. Only the finest materials are used in all parts of the production process and everything is thoroughly inspected and tested–from ensuring that the leather is of the highest quality down to the smallest detail, like checking the screws in the sofa, so that no part is missing. In 1994, in recognition of its quality, the company was the first upholstered furniture manufacturer in Italy to receive ISO 9000 certification for product management and ISO 9001 certification for design, production, and customer service.
