The Bertoia Bar Stool from Knoll was designed by Harry Bertoia in 1952 and has become a modern design icon throughout the years. The bar stool is part of Bertoia's popular collection of sculpted steel furniture. The seat is created from welded, bent steel rods and rests on a base with steel medallions.
Bertoia was best known as a sculptor and designed only one collection of furniture. Although he did not work primarily as an interior designer, his pieces were highly regarded and are still seen around the world today.
