Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg 1955 – 2015 

Born in 1955, Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg quickly became a leading force in the textile industry. She began her career at Kasthall in 1987 and later became the company's chief designer, a position she held for nearly three decades. During her time there, she created some of the most iconic rugs in Scandinavia. Her designs were characterized by a passion for natural materials and an eye for detail. Ullberg had a unique ability to blend colors and patterns in a way that gave depth and personality to every rug she created. Her work became a symbol of Swedish craftsmanship. 

One of her most famous works is the "Häggå" collection, a series of woven rugs with geometric patterns that became an instant classic. This collection is still one of Kasthall's most sought-after and exemplifies Ullberg's masterful ability to create timeless designs. Other well-known collections include Moss, Fogg, and Tekla.

Throughout her career, Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg received several prestigious awards for her contributions to the design world, including being named Designer of the Year in 2012 by Elle Decoration. Ullberg had an outstanding ability to combine function with beauty, and her rugs have adorned everything from modern homes to the Royal Palace.
