In 2006, the Dane Stine Gam and the Italian Enrico Fratesi formed the design duo GamFratesi, which represents a modern interpretation of the meeting of Danish and international design traditions. GamFratesi designs in the spirit of Danish and Italian design culture.
In their own words, their work is a balancing act between traditional and innovative thinking. It’s often driven by contrasts and drawn from everyday situations. GamFressi's products show the processes and techniques that went into making them and are a constant exploration of the space between harmony and chaos. GamFratesi has won a number of major awards, most recently the Finn Juhl Prize in 2015.
Among their most recent works are the Beetle Chair produced by Gubi, the Cheshire lamp at FontanaArte and Suspense at Fritz Hansen. The design studio is based in Copenhagen and the duo frequently travel to Italy to develop new and interesting products and to showcase their creative design range.
