PK61, a coffee table from 1956 by Poul Kjærholm, marks the designer's transition from industrial designer to furniture architect. The coffee table consists of four parts joined with machine screws, which gives an industrial and sophisticated aesthetic. The removable table top, which is held in place by gravity, is a characteristic style feature of Kjærholm. The top plate is available in a range of different types of material and stone, while the base is made of satin-brushed stainless steel. A larger variant, the PK61A, was introduced in 2007.
