The 4130 Grand Prix chair from Fritz Hansen was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957 and launched the same year at the Danish Museum of Art Design in Copenhagen during the Designers Spring Exhibition. Later that year, the chair was exhibited at the Triennale in Milan, where it won the Grand Prix for the show's most outstanding work. Since then, the chair has been given the same name and launched in a number of versions. 4130 The Grand Prix has beautiful wooden legs and comes with a cloth or leather front. Available in a variety of woods and finishes.
Like Arne Jacobsen's Ant and Series 7, Grand Prix is made from compression moulded veneerér. Each chair's shell is created in one piece, consisting of nine layers of fan and two layers of Indian cotton, moulded into its true shape with the help of a blowpipe. This gives the chair a comfortable flexibility.
