3107 The Series 7 in book veneer, also known as Series 7 is Fritz Hansen's bestseller designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955 and is a refinement of Jacobsen's classic Ant chair. The Series 7 is based on the same innovative manufacturing process. The seat and backrest are made from one molded piece, consisting of nine layers of veneer layered with two layers of Indian cotton and molded to its correct shape over steam. This has given the Series 7 its thin and stylish shell seemingly made of a whole piece of wood, the backrest can also be reclined which adds to the elevated level of comfort. The chair is available in a range of woods and colors, with a stained, clear lacquered or fully lacquered finish. A stained finish allows the natural texture and grain of the wood to remain visible, making each chair unique. With a full varnish finish, every chair is identical. The Series 7 has delicate chrome-plated legs that come in a variety of finishes to choose from. The chair is also stackable for up to twelve chairs in height.
