Feathers Rug Round was designed by Maarten De Ceulaer for the Italian manufacturer cc-tapis. The rug results from a solid craftsmanship where Tibetan artisans have knotted the rug by hand in a material of cotton, wool, and silk. The round rug comes in measurements of 250 x 250 cm but is also available in the model Feathers Rug Freeform.

Maarten De Ceulaer has always had a fascination with birds and birds of prey and since then he has been inspired by the illustrations of John James Audubon and John Gould, who have regularly been his source of inspiration. To create each motif, De Ceulaer digitally scans these illustrations and works and combines different colors together, then adjusts and shapes them into further abstraction. Shapes, colors, and textures are combined into enchanting and absorbing compositions. This montage is then transformed into rugs, hand-knotted by Tibetan artisans. By varying the height, a sense of depth is created, perpetuating the shapes of the springs.
