Omer Arbel is the founder of the Canadian lighting company Bocci and the designer behind the modern 84.6 Floor lamp. The lamp has a cylindrical body in untreated brass or metal with a black rubberized finish. The lamp base is round, and the cord is fitted with a stylish brass dimmer. Six glass domes are placed on the frame. A complex manufacturing process creates the domes, which have an inner layer of white glass and an outer layer of clear glass. An interesting detail is the copper placed between the different glasses. Sometimes the net folds or creases, making each glass dome unique. If you are looking for a similar floor lamp to the 84.6 Floor, but in a smaller format with fewer lightbulbs, the 84.3 Floor comes in heights of 90 and 180 cm and with three lightbulbs, the latter for six.
