Tobi-Ishi Rectangular Table is a beautiful dining table from Italian B&B Italia designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby in 2014. The table becomes as much a beautiful sculpture as a functional dining table in the home. It consists of three large blocks that together form a harmonious set.
The duo behind Tobi-Ishi are big fans of Japanese culture and art, the design clearly takes inspiration from the concept of Zen. The name of the table and the concept behind it comes from the round stones used for ornaments in classical Zen trees, which are called Tobi-Ishi.
The Tobi-Ishi table is available in several versions, with a rectangular table top like this model or with a round top. The round table is also available in two exclusive finishes made entirely of white or black marble.
