In 1990, Santiago Calatrava designed the floor lamp Montjuic for Italian Artemide. The 190 cm high floor lamp is made of methacrylate and technopolymer. Montjuic has an extraordinary look in the form of a leaning light stem with a slightly transparent red sphere against which the white screen leans. The floor lamp emits an indirect and diffused light and via the foot dimmer the light intensity can be easily adjusted. Light source not included.
Spanish Santiago Calatrava is basically an architect and known for his spectacular works, which include Turning Torso. The name Montjuic comes from the Spanish mountain and the shape of the floor lamp was inspired by the communication tower located on the mountain at the Olympic Barcelona Park, also designed by Calatrava.
