The cult cosmetic brand and perfume house 19-69 was founded in 2015 by Swedish artist and product developer Johan Bergelin. 19-69 began with a twenty-four month creative process with artisans in Scandinavia, France and Italy that led to the launch of 5 perfumes in 2017 at the exclusive Collette department store in Paris. The perfumes sold out in minutes and almost immediately retailers started competing to order his collection of high quality perfumes.

The brand's name 19-69 is taken from the year 1969, which was a year that stood for freedom, tolerance and counterculture. 1969 is also the year Johan Bergelin was born, making it clear that the brand's perfumes are a direct reflection of his personality and identity.
