The Standard SP is a chair from Vitra, designed by Jean Prouvé in 1950. "SP" stands for Siège en Plastique and is an updated version of the original Standard chair. The chair is made of durable ASA plastic with a robust steel base. Prouvé realized that the back legs bear the greatest load and therefore designed the chair with stronger back legs and narrower front legs.
