Eames Coffee Table is a coffee table designed in 1949 by Charles Ray Eames and manufactured by Vitra. The table has a rectangular tabletop resting on a metal base crossed between black wooden legs. The tabletop is made of rosewood, American walnut, or white marble veneer, depending on the version chosen. Charles Ray Eames are among the most influential furniture designers of the twentieth century. The couple designed the Eames Coffee Table as a coffee table for their own home, the legendary Eames House outside Los Angeles. The original tabletop was covered in a thin layer of gold leaf and exuded luxury. Today, the Eames Coffee Table is manufactured by Vitra, which has exclusive rights to the production of the couple's furniture designs in Europe.
