The floor lamp Mirror Ball Stand Chandelier was designed by Tom Dixon in 2016 and is part of the Mirror Ball collection, which was designed in 2002. The floor lamp, which can be compared to a chandelier on a gold stand where seven golden spheres, in three different sizes, create a striking dynamic in the graphic, reflective and transparent in whatever room it is placed in. The sphere is manufactured in polycarbonate which is then vacuum metallized. When the metal is vaporized under vacuum, the metal is laid in thin layers that result in a mirror-like surface. The sphere sits on a steel stand with three legs and the floor lamp comes with a black textile cable. Light source is not included and the lamp is not dimmable.
Tom Dixon's aim was to create a completely spherical object that would disappear into its surroundings thanks to its mirror-gloss surface. Mirror Ball instead became an ultra-visible object that both creates reflection, and provides a wide light beam from the lower transparent part of the lamp. The failure became a great success for Dixon. The Mirror Ball is considered one of the most identifiable icons of British lighting design. Mirror Ball Chandelier is also available as a pendant lamp, see Mirror Ball in our range. The Mirror Ball Chandelier comes with a Swedish wall plug stored inside a British wall plug that can be screwed up.
