In 1977, the design classic Atollo – Opal was designed by the world-famous designer Vico Magistretti for Oluce. With a design that is as simple as it is ingenious consisting of three geometric shapes: the cylinder, the cone and the hemisphere - it has become a real design icon. Atollo – Opal is, as the name suggests, made of opal glass. The lamp comes in three different sizes to be able to function as a bedside lamp as well as a table lamp and floor lamp. The smallest variant, which has the designation Atollo 236, is equipped with three light sources, while the two larger models, Atollo 235 and Atollo 237, have four light sources. Atollo 235 and Atollo 237 also have a cable with a universal dimmer on the cable, which makes it easy and practical to adjust the brightness. In addition to this version in opal glass, there are also Atollo - Black, Atollo - White, Atollo - Satin Bronze and Atollo - Gold.

Since its launch, Atollo – Opal has become a beloved classic and revolutionized the way we look at the classic bedside lamp, table lamp and floor lamp. Already two years after it was launched, it won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award. The lamp has also become part of the permanent collections of several reputable museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
