Hutchison 01 is a pendant lamp from the Canadian lighting company Lambert & Fils. The exterior of the lamp is made of powder-coated or polished aluminium. The light is reflected through a PMMA screen. Hutchison 01 hangs from the ceiling in a polyester cable.
The Hutchison series is the result of the exploration of soft curves and hard lines, a battle between the vertical and horizontal forces and a play with scale and repetition. Apart from Hutchison 01 which consists of one pendant, the same series includes similar pendants but with two, three or four pendants next to each other. Together, they bring to mind iconic patterns from Middle Eastern vaults and Roman terracotta roofs.
