9209 – Table lamp is designed by one of the great industrial designers and metal craftsmen of the 20th century, Paavo Tynell, and produced by the brand GUBI. The designer was one of the pioneers in modern lighting and at the time had exciting and innovative design visions. Thanks to the shape in spun brass, the lamp is called Kýpärä, which is the Finnish word for helmet. The cast screen is held in place by a curved brass arm and is decorated with triangular perforation patterns which require a specialized punch tool and utmost precision to create by hand. In addition to directing the light downwards, thanks to the holes in the surface, the shade also lets pinpricks of light through, creating a soft and structured glow as well as a starlight-like sparkle.
