PK61A is a classic coffee table from Fritz Hansen, designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1956. The table has a stylish and timeless design, with a square table top in stone or glass on a base in satin-brushed stainless steel. The base is made in four parts and assembled with machine screws, which adds a subtle industrial detail. The table top is available in clear glass, granite or marble of various types. PK61A is the larger model of the coffee table while PK61 is the smaller one.
PK61A exemplifies Kjærholm's development from industrial designer to furniture architect, and the minimalist design is characteristic of his design language. The loose tabletop is held in place solely by gravity, a technique Kjærholm also used for the PK24 lounge chair. PK61A fits perfectly with the PK22 lounge chair and the PK33 stool by Poul Kjærholm from Fritz Hansen.
