Frisbi is a ceiling lamp designed in 1978 by Achille Castiglioni for the Italian brand Flos. The lamp is made of highly polished steel and with a Plexiglas lampshade. The thin lampshade hangs from three neat steel cables below the light source, which creates a pendulum with the feeling that it is floating.
The design refers to the iconic toy frisbee. Castiglioni is noted for his way of working with illusions of light and structures. The inspiration behind the lamp is to give us a renewed view of objects we find in everyday life. The lamp is a clear example of a well-functioning collaboration between form and function.

Direct, diffused and indirect light in one and the same fixture. A masterpiece and a beautiful one at that.

Bought the lamp in Paris in 1987 and still love it. Fits into modern interior design today in the same way as it did 32 years ago.
