The CH24 Y Chair, also known as The Wishbone Chair, comes from the Danish brand Carl Hansen & Søn and is created by Hans J. Wegner. This version of the classic chair comes in FSCTM-certified mahogany, a tropical wood renowned for its uniform and deep grain. The wood is prized for its durability and stability and is what Carl Hansen & Søn have chosen for the production of some of its most popular furniture. The beautifully red-brown surface has been treated with a water-based oil to preserve its durability and protect against chipping.
The CH24 Y chair has been in continuous production since 1950. With its distinctive Y-shaped back, the chair is a stylish and tasteful choice around the dining table. Despite its striking appearance, it is a long process to produce the chair. The hand-stitched seat alone is made from over 120 meters of waxed paper cord that has been carefully cut.
