The Tizio table lamp is an Italian design icon, designed by Richard Sapper for Artemide in 1972. The lamp construction is made of aluminum and consists of adjustable arms and lamp heads, which are balanced by counterweights in die-cast zinc. The joints between the arms are made of chromed steel and techno polymer. The cylindrical base is made of PPE and PS plastic. The die-cast aluminum lamp head also has an internal high-efficiency reflector in anodized aluminum and a glass lens, allowing the Tizio to emit plenty of light. The lamp is therefore ideal for task lighting. Tizio is available in several sizes and comes with a variety of functions such as a rotating head and a 360-degree pendant or a dimmer function. This, the largest Tizio, is available with an integrated LED lamp and dimmer function. When choosing a GY6.35 socket, the light bulb is not included.
Richard Sapper has received several awards for the Tizio. The lamp can be seen in the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, among others.
