The stylish Lukki Chair was created by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1951 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. A translation of Lukki into English quickly reveals the similarities - Lukki means "leg" - as in the "daddy long legs" arachnid. This is clear in its thin and slender legs, which also make it agile as it can stack up to four chairs on top of each other.
The Lukki Chair is made from a frame of matte lacquered tubular steel and has a seat in molded beech veneer and solidly crafted beech plywood. Its contoured seat and back make it extremely comfortable and is ideal for use around the dining table and in a public environment. The chair is available in three colors: black, stone white, and sage green.
