Arne Jacobsen Clocks
Arne Jacobsen Clocks is part of Rosendahl Timepieces. With the help of Arne Jacobsen’s former colleague Teit Weyland, they have produced a new range of clocks based on the original drawings. Arne Jacobsen’s clock-making took off in 1939 when he designed a house for H.J. Hansen, who saw potential in the young architect and asked him to design a clock; the result was an electronic desk clock.
According to Arne Jacobsen, good design comes from a balance between creativity and structure. In collaboration with a number of leading designers, design solutions were created in line with Scandinavian design tradition, where the balance between soft shapes and straight lines is key. Arne Jacobsen stands for innovative creations for the home and, with ambition as the driving force, it produces products of the highest quality at a reasonable price.
Stylish clocks by a Danish design icon
The Arne Jacobsen range includes a number of high-quality clocks, all by design icon Arne Jacobsen. Jacobsen was not only a furniture designer but also an architect, and one of the great founders of functionalism. After studying at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he set up his own architectural practice, which he ran until his death. Jacobsen is best known for designing the Ant and Seven chairs, as well as the Swan and the Egg, all design classics. From 1934, Jacobsen collaborated with the Danish brand Fritz Hansen, designing a range of furniture where proportions were key.
At NO GA you will find a curated range of Arne Jacobsen’s famous clocks from the Timepieces range. Among them are the City Hall clock that Jacobsen designed for Rødovre Town Hall in 1956. The concave glass front of the clock gives it a striking appearance on the wall and, combined with the solid aluminum frame, the clock will be a stylish decorative detail in your home. In contrast to the stylish and modern City Hall, the Roman clock is a little more classic in its design. The clock was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1942 and has since adorned the walls of Aarhus City Hall. The clock has an old-fashioned Scandinavian design that fits in with most homes and environments, making it easy to match with other decor. Common to all the clocks in our range is that they are all part of the Rosendahl Timepieces range, and part of Jacobsen’s impressive design catalogue.
