Butterfly Stool is a stool designed by Japanese designer Sori Yanagi in 1954 and produced by Vitra. The stool is made of maple or rosewood with brass fittings. With its softly curved lines, it brings to mind a flying butterfly, hence the name Butterfly. Sori Yanagi has combined Eastern design with the same production technique for molding wood that was developed by Charles and Ray Eames. The Butterfly Stool has become a modern classic.
