The MK-16 Folding Chair Oiled Oak Black from Getama is a design classic with a place in history thanks to its timeless aesthetics. Mogens Koch designed this folding chair in 1932 as an entry in a competition for complementary chairs for churches. The chair was later presented at the Snedkerlaugets Møbeludstilling in 1938 and has since become an icon in Danish furniture design. In an interview 70 years later, Mogens Koch told Malin Lindgren that the chair was originally intended as a bridal chair – an alternative to the large Renaissance and Baroque-inspired chairs that were often found in churches.
