Super circular dining table from Fritz Hansen's Table Series, designed by Piet Hein, Bruno Mathsson and Arne Jacobsen in 1968. The tabletop is available in two variants, made of laminate with an aluminum-clad edge or entirely in walnut veneer. The laminate top is available in several different colors and is made of the particularly durable material fenix laminate, which Fritz Hansen introduced in 2017. Fenix laminate means an extra matte and scratch-resistant surface on the table top. The pillar-shaped base is made of steel and stands on a star-shaped aluminum foot.
The inspiration behind the Table Series comes from Piet Hein's ingenious solution to a traffic problem at Sergels torg in Stockholm. A superelliptical roundabout gave rise to the Table Series and the Superellips table, which has become one of Scandinavia's most well-known tables and a real design icon from Fritz Hansen.
