Claesson Koivisto Rune are an architectural design trio who started an architectural, design and interior design studio together in 1995. Founded by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune, the studio has been an architectural firm since its inception, but in recent years it has become internationally recognised and acclaimed in several fields of design.
Projects they have taken on include major projects such as buildings, hotels, private homes, shops, offices and exhibitions and smaller tasks such as textiles, lighting and electronics. They have also designed a trophy, the Swedish TV prize Kristallen. The team carries out projects around the world, and in 2004 they became the first Swedish studio to be selected for the pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Claesson Koivisto Rune is also behind award-winning projects such as Tind Prefab for Fiskarhedenvillan, the Sfera Building in Tokyo and the Nobis Hotel in Stockholm. The trio's repertoire of brand collaborations includes many of NO GA favourites, such as Arflex, Cappellini, Fontana Arte, Kasthall, Living Divani, Muuto and Skultuna. Throughout their time together, they have received over 60 awards and today Claesson Koivisto Rune is at the forefront of Swedish design studios, having won the Swedish Design Prize. In addition, their studio is the only one to have received the Red Dot Design Award in five different categories. Their design philosophy is based on the idea that the product is always part of a larger spatial context.
