Bruno Fattorini

Bruno Fattorini was born in 1939 in Domodossola, Italy. After studying economics in Milan, he embarked on a career in furniture design in 1967. The journey started with Boffi, with whom Fattorini had a long and fruitful collaboration before taking over the company in 1992, which he ran for 15 years.

He immediately started implementing an innovative and dynamic business and product strategy. As designer and art director, he directed the aesthetic and cultural research and philosophy of the company. The determined choice to orient the development towards exact lifestyles, interpreted with simplicity at the turn of the millennium, affected the entire MDF Italia collection and reinforced its strong identity. He challenged the industry and often invested in new, untapped design talents. This resulted in a series of innovative designs that have won international acclaim and awards.

As art director and designer, he has overseen the development of MDF Italia's research, philosophy and design line, which revolves around innovative techniques and materials combined with a pared-down and stylish design language. Some of the most famous products Bruno Fattorini created for MDF Italia are the Lim Table, Home Desk, Aluminium Bed, Alu Cabinet, Colours Table, Allen, Sliding Sofa and not least the Minima shelving system which in 1998 received an honorary mention in the ADI competition for Compasso D’Oro. The Minima wall shelf has a minimalist and modern design. Thanks to its adaptable flaps, doors or sections, the flexible shelf can fit into any environment.

With the Elevenfive weighing system, he also won an award in Cologne in 2005. In the same year, he sold the company with the aim of ensuring continuity. In 2009, he founded the Bruno Fattorini and Partners design consultancy with Robin Rizzini. The duo works internationally in industrial design. The partnership, founded with the aim of providing the furniture industry with very specific knowledge developed after various professional exchanges between different design and entrepreneurial cultures, is based on the practical and solid base that Bruno Fattorini has achieved during his experience as an entrepreneur and focused on achieving specific goals.
