The elegant umbrella stand 115 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. Like many other Aalto pieces of furniture, this is also made of birch. The designer designed the umbrella stand as early as the mid-1930s - and even today it is a piece of furniture to be reckoned with as it lasts over time and space with its beautiful shape. Umbrella stand 115 is made of birch and has an eye-catching brass tray along the bottom where the raindrops can collect. The tray is easy to remove for cleaning and when plastering is needed. This umbrella stand is definitely a piece of jewelry in the hall that only gets nicer and nicer as the years go by.
