Rift Armchair is designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Moroso brand. Rift takes its name from the geological term for crack and has a multi-layered appearance, like tectonic plates. These plates tend to collide and overlap, giving an impression of movement, which was what Urquiola wanted in these chairs. Unlike modular systems based on rational geometry, Rift is made up of an asymmetrical positioning of different volumes and a deliberate randomness inspired by the unpredictability of nature.
