The Akari 25N table lamp comes from the Vitra brand and was designed in 1951. The lamp is handmade and consists of shoji paper with a steel frame. The paper comes from the bark of mulberry trees and creates a soft, atmospheric lighting. The Akari series is designed by the Japanese-American architect, sculptor and designer Isamu Noguchi. Noguchi's work is recognizable by abstract expressionism with a design language that had a great influence on design during the 1950s.

Akari is a lighting series inspired by traditional Japanese design and consists of a total of over 100 luminaires that include floor, table and ceiling lamps. Akari 25N is also available in the smaller size Akari 24N.
