Stolab was founded in 1907 in Smålandsstenar, Småland, and has since been a symbol of high-quality Swedish craftsmanship and timeless design. With a strong tradition of producing solid wood furniture, Stolab combines skilled craftsmanship with functional design to create furniture that lasts for generations. Stolab’s philosophy is based on sustainability, both through the choice of natural materials and through the meticulous manufacturing process carried out by skilled artisans. Each piece of furniture leaving the factory in Smålandsstenar is the result of a long process where craftsmanship and design go hand in hand to achieve the highest possible quality. 

Stolab furniture 

Furniture from Stolab is sought after for its timeless aesthetics and high functionality. One example of this is the iconic chair Lilla Åland, designed by renowned Swedish designer Carl Malmsten. This chair has long been a bestseller and is a clear example of Stolab’s ability to combine classic design with modern function. In addition to Carl Malmsten, Stolab collaborates with several prominent designers, including Mattias Ljunggren, Marit Stigsdotter, and Måns Sjöstedt. Through these collaborations, the company continuously develops new and innovative products. One of Stolab’s most award-winning collaborations is with Måns Sjöstedt, the designer behind the Prio storage series. This series combines a minimalist design language with thoughtful functions and is made from solid birch or oak. The Prio series has received great attention for its durability and timeless design.

In 1997, the Knappen stool was awarded the "Excellent Swedish Form" prize, and the company has also received accolades such as Supplier of the Year at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2011 and the Design Policy of the Year award in 2014.
