Falcon First Highback from LK Hjelle is an armchair designed in 1971 by Sigurd Resell, inspired by the hammock's construction. It is known for its unique construction that provides both good freedom of movement and exceptional seating comfort. Falcon First represents the original and classic version of the chair, recognizable by the distinctive buttons in the cushion. Resell, who had a solid background in carpentry and training from the Wood Department at the Norwegian Academy of Arts and Crafts, is known for creating sturdy furniture after World War II, often in steel. His design of the armchair Blankvals, which later became known as Falcon, won second prize in the Industrial Council's furniture competition "En möbel" in 1970. The Falcon chair has since established itself as one of the most prominent Norwegian furniture icons.
