Ligne Roset is known for its collaborations with both established and young talents in contemporary design, offering in its collections a whole lifestyle of sober as well as boldly beautiful furniture, lighting, textiles and interiors...
The family-owned company Ligne Roset was established in 1860 by Antoine Roset in Montagnieu, Ain, in France. It was a woodworking factory that quickly began to produce umbrellas, canes and chair frames. In 1950, in the post-war period, Antoine’s grandson Jean switched the company’s focus to furniture for public settings.
Tables, chairs, and beds are made for institutions such as schools, universities, hospitals, and guesthouses. The Ligne Roset brand first became established on the commercial market in the 1960s and 70s, when Jean’s sons Pierre and Michel joined the family business. Seeing an opportunity to revive the company, they began working with interior designers and designers such as Michel Ducaroy. Together, they launched Togo - an iconic model of the past that is just as relevant today - on the occasion of the opening of their first store in 1973.
