Påfågel is a hand-tufted rug from the exclusive Swedish company Kasthall, made of 50% wool and 50% linen. The inspiration for many designers often comes from nature, and this rug is no exception. Despite its floral design, it is named after the magnificent bird, the peacock, with its magnificently patterned feathers. The name is explained when one sees the widespread feathers or leaf-like shapes of the carpet. Originally, it was created as a high-quality Chenille yarn woven rug known as Malaga, which was offered in eight colors. The black and white version has a special allure. Kasthall's Design Studio has revived and redesigned Berit Woelfer's original woven rug from the early 70s into a hand-tufted version with new yarns.
