Over the years, she has established herself as an internationally recognized designer, known for her ability to create distinctive and timeless objects in glass and ceramics. Her work is characterized by simplicity with subtle and decorative details, and is appreciated in both everyday settings and at design exhibitions around the world.

Carina Seth Andersson began her studies at Riksglasskolan near Orrefors in Småland and later earned a master’s degree from Konstfack in Stockholm. Since 1993, she has worked as an independent designer, focusing on glass and ceramics that embody both form and function. Through collaborations with brands like Iittala, Skrufs Glasbruk, Marimekko, and Svenskt Tenn, her products have achieved high status. Her design philosophy is that craftsmanship should be visible and that chance can play a role in parts of the process.

Early Works and Design Classics

Over the years, Carina Seth Andersson has created several popular products that have become timeless design classics. Her timeless design allows products to age gracefully, and her works are often minimalist with an eye for detail and proportion.

One of her most famous works is the popular Dagg vase, designed in 2009 for Svenskt Tenn, which has become a symbol of modern Scandinavian design thanks to its unique shape. Her Kolonn vase series is a collection of hand-blown vases with clean and sophisticated expressions, designed for Skruf Glassworks. They come in various sizes, making them perfect for both single-stem flowers and larger bouquets.

Carina Seth Andersson’s works are exhibited in several prestigious museums and institutions, such as the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. She previously taught at Beckmans College of Design, but today she dedicates her time fully to her creative work in design.
