Riihitie Flower pot, a planter pot from Artek, is a creation of Aino Aalto from around 1937. It was originally used on the terrace of the Aalto family's residence located on Riihitie in Helsinki. This pot is an expression of Aalto's belief that even the smallest details deserve our time and care, just like the larger objects. Although the pot debuted at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937, it never went into mass production. On the occasion of Finland's 100th anniversary in 2017, Artek relaunched these pots in the two original designs. Each pot is handmade in ceramic, and the material is chosen with inspiration from the tiles that Alvar Aalto often used in his architectural works. The pots are offered in three different sizes intended for indoor use and are available in the colors white and blue. These colors are taken from the ceramic tiles that adorn the facade of Aalto's summer residence at Muuratsalo in Finland.
