Marcel Wanders 1963

Marcel Wanders blev født i 1963 i Boxtel, Holland, og er en internationalt anerkendt produkt- og indretningsdesigner. Han fik sit store gennembrud med sin Knotted Chair, som han designede for Droog Design i 1996, og samme år åbnede han også sit atelier i Amsterdam.

Ud over at drive sit studie er Wanders medstifter og kunstnerisk leder af det fremtrædende designmærke Moooi. Men Wanders har også designet for en lang række andre kendte mærker. For bl.a. Flos, Alessi, Cappellini, B&B Italia, Moroso, Magis og Louis Vuitton. Hans designs er repræsenteret i samlinger og udstillinger rundt om i verden, herunder MoMA i New York, Centre Pompidou i Paris, Stedelijk Museum i Amsterdam og V&A Museum i London.

Marcel Wander's designs skiller sig klart ud fra mængden. Hans design er i legens ånd og kombinerer ofte klassiske linjer med legende former og former og skaber interessante og ikoniske produkter til den moderne mand. Hans design omfatter Circus Collection for Alessi, Zeppelin for Flos og Valentine for Moooi.
